Window film manufacturer Geoshield recently established a new Saudi Arabian distributor in the financial district of Riyadh. Officials for the Baton Rouge, La.-based company say this is not its first experience with establishing a business on foreign soil, but it does represent the first Geoshield-exclusive operation outside of the U.S.

“At the beginning of the year, with the recession looming, we decided it was time to diversify into foreign markets,” says Burns Mulhearn, Geoshield’s president. “We let all our international contacts know we were looking to open a foreign distributor. Fahad and Saudi Arabia turned out to be a perfect fit.”

Fahad Almuzaini stepped up to launch GeoshieldKSA. The company will serve both as a distributor for the region, as well as a dealer and installer.

“I have to give Fahad a lot of credit,” Mulhearn says. “We exchanged hundreds of emails and conversations over the last few months.”

Mulhearn says that the product segment already had a presence in the region through a number of providers, which he says ultimately made it easier for Almuzaini to get started.

“The Store is doing great,” Mulhearn says. “This area of the world has an already-established market for high end films. Fahad tells me his customers love the Geoshield products and that he has the best store and marketing materials they have seen.”

GeoshieldKSA will be responsible for all sales and distribution in Saudi Arabia for the commercial, residential, and automotive segments.
