The Special Equipment Market Association’s (SEMA) annual SEMA Show is set to take place in less than two weeks, November 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. According to event organizers, more than 100,000 industry leaders from more than 100 countries take part in the annual event. In fact, last year the show drew in more than 50,000 domestic and international buyers to 2 million square feet of exhibits. With so much space to fill, many exhibitors are busy preparing to showcase their latest developments for the entire film industry. Just the same, attendees are also looking forward to all that the show will offer.

This year’s event will be the second SEMA Show that Dan Copeland, office manager of Tint World in Las Vegas, has attended. He says attending the show is important because it provides a venue to learn about and see some of the newest technologies being developed.

“It also gives you a glimpse into the future [at some of what’s to come],” says Copeland, adding that it’s also helpful in planning for the business.

“Plus, I love creativity and love to see all the creative things people do to cars,” Copeland says.

Brian Arnett, owner of Midwest Tinting in the Kansas City area, says he has been going to the SEMA Show every year for nearly 30 years.

“It’s a critical event for this industry because that’s where you get the business done to ensure you’re keeping your supply chain in tact,” says Arnett. “It’s a must do.”

Arnett says he always looks for the newest products and trends in tinting, as well as new products and innovations that can add to his bottom line.

“I’m also looking for different ideas of what’s coming down the pipeline. Anything that’s new will be at the SEMA show,” he adds.

In addition to all of the new products, the SEMA Show is also a great place to see a celebrity or two. This year attendees can expect to see NASCAR drivers Robby Gordon and Rusty Wallace, as well as Indycar driver Marco Andretti and racecar driver Mario Andretti.
