Solar Art Window Film Named for Second Time in Inc. 5000

August 28th, 2013 by Editor

Solar Art Window Film of Laguna Hills, Calif., has been ranked in Inc.’s “Inc. 5000” list for the second time in a row. The company ranked 1747, 227 places higher than 2012’s placement of 1974 out of 5000 recognized businesses.

Solar Art, which installs and provides both commercial and residential films, experienced 221-percent growth from 2009-2012, making nearly $1.6 million more in 2012 than it did in 2009.

For the 2012 listing, the company was cited for its 137-percent growth over three years, from 2008-2011. The company made $882,000 in 2008; profits skyrocketed to $2.1 million by 2011.

Additionally, the small business was ranked 54 out of the Top 100 Energy Companies for 2013 and 56 out of 100 in 2012 according to Inc.

“It’s an honor to be on the list and be associated with the magazine and the other companies that are on it,” says president and CEO, Matthew Darienzo.

“People outside of the industry have no idea what these films can do; there’s a lack of awareness,” Darienzo continues. “Over the last couple of years, with new energy-efficiency ratings, this is a time for window film to become more apparent and become a more viable option. It’s about dealers getting out there and showing what these films can do.”

According to the company website, Darienzo acquired a Tint Plus in 2000 in Orange County as his first window film company. He later became the CEO of Solar Art in 2009, and acquired 3M dealer Sun-Tech Window Film in Reseda, Calif., in 2011, which now operates under the Solar Art name.

“The initial [Inc. 5000] ranking was for the [2011] acquisition, but as we go forward it’s for internal growth,” Darienzo adds.
