In the Automotive Dealer Roundtable held this morning, speakers Chris Robinson, The Tint Guy, and Keith Garwood, All Pro Window Films, discussed a variety of issues, including film waste.

“A builder doesn’t charge you for three-quarters of a sheet of plywood. It’s the same way for film. You’re charging for the whole piece of film,” says Robinson.

For the Architectural Dealer Roundtable, standing apart from the competition was the focus.

“Sell your uniqueness,” said Paul Tauchar, Architectural Roundtable presenter and owner of Solar Control of Jackson.

In How to Optimize Your Website and Related Technologies, presented by Cody Flanagan, president of iRazor Strategies, recommended utilizing relevancy for your online marketing strategy. On your website, interlinking, keywords, metatags, xml site maps, video, blogging and page titles will help you optimize your site. Outside of you website, using tools such as Google Places, back links and review sites can all be helpful tools to boost your presence.

In Installation Techniques for Architectural Glass and Safety /Security Films, Andy Hayes, technical services engineer for Madico Window Films, treated attendees to a demo by Jeremy Shapiro, owner of High Impact Glass Solutions in Largo, Fla.

Tips included not using an automotive squeegee and make sure you can put a lot of weight behind your squeegee to make sure you get all of the liquid. If you see champagne bubbles of white spots, Hayes says, there’s still liquid under the film.
