A company that uses window film to promote brands has brought national attention to the branding opportunities that building wraps can offer.

i.M Branded, a Rochester Hills, Mich.-based image company, recently applied a specially-designed building wrap that covers 27 stories of the General Motors’ Renaissance Center in Detroit. The image, a placed 750 feet in the air and 34,000 square feet in diameter, was used to promote GMC as the official vehicle of the NFL in conjunction with the NFL season-opening Monday night football game in Detroit.

This was not the first time i.M Branded has worked with GM on a big job.

“I have worked with various General Motors brands the past 19 years,” says Jim Whitehead, president. Though he’s had bigger jobs, he says, “It’s always nice to be part of a high-profile project broadcasted on national TV.”

The company is also no stranger to working with other iconic Motor City companies. i.M. Branded previously installed a building wrap on the Fiat Chrysler headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich., The company has designed and installed more than 20 large-scale building wraps, totaling nearly 500,000 square feet.

The GM Renaissance Center wrap took a total 50 production hours and four days to install.
