West Coast Tinters React to WFCT™ 2015 in Reno
January 28th, 2015 by EditorLast week, it was announced that the 2015 International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ (WFCT) will be held September 30 – October 2, 2015 at the four diamond award-winning Atlantis Casino Resort Spa and Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nev.
“We are excited to announce our new location in Reno,” says Tricia Lopez, WFCT competition coordinator. “Baltimore was well received, and we expect the same for this westward location. Reno is prepared to welcome our industry with open arms and we’re anticipating an event to remember.”
The news was music to the ears of Anh Linn, receptionist at JH Auto Window Tinting in Sacramento, Calif.
“I’ve never been to the conference – now that it’s in our back yard, we can actually see what the Tint-Off™ is all about,” she says. “Last year it was all the way on the East Coast [so] usually we go to SEMA but [with it] being in Reno, it’s more affordable for people on the West Coast to attend.”
Matt Castleman, owner/operator of San Francisco-area-based C.B. Tint, echoes Linn’s sentiments, saying, “It’s about time! Last year it was in Baltimore and we didn’t have time to bounce out there. It’s going to be fun.”
Castleman says this will give West Coasters more of an opportunity to compete in the Tint-Offs. “We have a lot of talent out here on the west coast and I’m sure the competition won’t disappoint.”
But West Coasters weren’t the only ones excited about the location. Mike Feldman, owner of Tampa-Fla.-based Advanced Film Solutions says he likes the idea of heading out to Reno “because I’ve never been there.”
The event once again is managed and sponsored by Window Film magazine.
“As always, we are encouraging competitors and attendees to save the dates now and suppliers to capitalize on the best booth selections by becoming a Sponsor early,” says Lopez.
Now in its 15th year, WFCT will combine Window Film magazine and the entire film industry for three days of networking opportunities and informative educational sessions in one convenient location.
