Three Reasons to Drop EVERYTHING and Come to the WFCT

In case you have been under a rock in recent months, you likely already know the International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off (WFCT) is next week in Reno, Nev. In my opinion, if your finances and schedule allow it, this is a must-attend event for those in the window film industry. I hope you’re already planning to attend and are getting your bags ready, but if not, I wanted to give you three reasons why you should consider making last-minute arrangements to attend.

  1. Unbeatable Networking

This is the most valuable of the three reasons. The ability to interact with manufacturers, distributors, business owners and installers all in one place is invaluable. First, you’ll have the opportunity to meet people you may only know via the phone or in an online group. I think we’d all agree that most relationships change for the better once you meet someone face-to-face. Second, through conversations you have with fellow business owners and installers, you will learn what best practices are working in other areas that you might be able to integrate at your company. Finally, you can share your plans with your contemporaries and solicit their feedback on those ideas. They may already have experience with it and can give you some insight into what they’ve already learned. This could save you both time and money.

  1. Education

There’s no shortage of opportunities to learn at the WFCT. Window Film magazine has made great efforts to offer educational sessions on a variety of topics so that there’s something for everyone from the novice to the veteran. Additionally, you can also pick up some new installation techniques by watching the Tint-Offs and see how other installers get the job done. Finally, you can expand your knowledge at the booths in the exhibition area. Chances are that you can learn something new about a particular company or product by spending time visiting with the exhibitors at the show. I can promise you some marketing insight if you stop by our booth with your marketing questions, and I’m sure that the other exhibitors have valuable information they’d like to share with you as well.

  1. Planning

If you’re anything like me, you find it incredibly difficult to plan for your business future while operating each day. The WFCT gives you some time away without the pressure of the day-to-day to think about the direction of your business and what things you may want to implement or change. The networking and educational opportunities mentioned above only serve to get the juices flowing on all the possibilities. That one idea you get from a colleague from across the country or process you learned about in an educational session might be the thing that transforms your entire business in a positive way for 2016 and beyond.

So, I hope I’ve convinced you to come to WFCT. Think of it as an investment in yourself and your business that will pay dividends long into the future. I hope to see many of you next week in Reno!

  1. For us poor old fellows who can’t deal with the jet lag and the cost, please do some digital filming and load them onto this site. Leon Levy Klingshield South Africa
