Eastman to Take Over its Dealer Services, Distributorship

November 11th, 2015 by Casey Flores

Dealers of Eastman Chemical Company’s film products, including LLumar, Vista and Formula One, will soon be serviced by the manufacturer directly rather than by Performance Film Distributing Inc. (PFD-Ohio). The change will be effective December 1, 2015.

The company will have “dedicated sales, customer service, warranty and technical service professionals assigned to each and every dealer – consistent with the rest of the U.S.,” according to Pam Feese, channel marketing communications manager. “Dealers will place orders for our products through our customer service team. Orders will be shipped directly from our warehouse.”

“CPFilms appreciates and has enjoyed the partnership with PFD-Ohio,” says Travis Smith, vice president and general manager, CPFilms. “This new alignment completes the strategy of moving to a direct-to-dealer model in the US. We look forward to directly supporting dealers’ business needs and growth efforts.”

George Lewis, owner of PFD-Ohio, says that while his company will “miss the daily interaction with our valued customers, this change allows us to focus on the other business units that comprise our overall company,” which include The Performance Auto Spa, 44Tools and The Performance Film Group.

In a letter to Eastman dealers, Smith said the transition will be smooth.

“While change can sometimes be challenging, I assure you that we have the necessary components in place for this transition,” the letter reads. “We have been working closely with PFD to ensure a smooth conversion and will continue to do so until the process is complete. Please continue to work with and order film through PFD through November 30, 2015. Beginning December 1, 2015 your Eastman team will handle all of your orders and requests for support.”
