Ontario, Canada to Include Tint Check in Car Inspection

January 27th, 2016 by Casey Flores

One Canadian province will be shining a spotlight on tint in the upcoming years.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is making window tinting a part of the vehicle safety inspection for “all vehicles manufactured on or after January 1, 2017.”

In the province, the windows to the right and left of the driver must not exceed maximum tinting levels, which the International Window Film Association says is “vague” and cannot be interpreted in its Canadian tinting laws chart.

In addition, windshields will not be permitted to have any aftermarket tint applied.
