Deadly Terrorist Attacks in Brussels Just Miles from EWFA

More than 30 people were killed and hundreds more injured in terrorists attacks in Brussels, Belgium, Tuesday morning. Three explosions, for which the Islamic State group has since claimed responsibility, occurred at the Brussels airport and downtown at the Maelbeek subway station.

Brussels is the home to the European Union and also the European Window Film Association (EWFA), a chapter of the International Window Film Association (IWFA).

Executive director Darrell Smith says due to the city’s lockdown, it presents logistical challenges for the local citizens’ daily operations. The EWFA office there is a few kilometers away from the airport and even further from the subway that was targeted.

“No one working there has been affected,” he explains.

It’s not clear at this time whether any safety/security film was installed at the airport, but in looking at post-explosion photos, it seems some glass remained in place. See below and leave a comment with your thoughts:

  1. It was found that during the second word war more people got killed and injured from fling glass than any other debris. Sales of safety film will be on the increase in Europe.Window Film Manufactures need to make sure they plan well. Its called” supply and demand”Leon Levy Klingshield South Africa
