Absolute Perfection Inc. Expands With New High-End Printer

One of the nation’s fastest-growing tinting enterprises plans to grow even faster with the latest in printing technology.

Part of a $150,000 capital investment to grow its communications branch, Sykesville, Md.-based film installation experts Absolute Perfection (AP) has purchased a new HP Scitex printer. The product will enable the company to operate as a wholesale supplier for installation companies nationwide.

“This purchase was a natural progression for our company,” says CEO Bill Valway. “Since we have a team of in-house designers and production staff, we see ourselves being a one-stop shop for many architects, designers and other installation companies like us across the U.S.”

AP made the Inc. 5000 last year for the first time due to its revenue growth of 193 percent over three years. This growth landed them the position of #2042 in the nation, and #158 in Maryland. Such a significant increase appears to prove Valway’s future goals for the company are even more far-reaching.

“This printer will help us achieve our goal of being a national-reaching company within the next four years,” he says.

The product allows the company to have its hand in the rapidly growing decorative film market.

“We are doing decorative film installations weekly,” says chief operating officer Tim Cooke. “These jobs are highly profitable, and we look forward to helping our friends across the industry offer their customers a much wider array of products and increase their revenue.”

The printer puts out five colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, black and white.

“The white ink capabilities really resonate with the window film industry,” Cooke says. “Office complexes are hotspots for anything from white graphics to full-white fades. It also allows us to print on darker colors and to achieve a much wider range of colors and shading.”

Key to AP’s overall expansion plan is the printer’s ability to print on LLumar’s 4-millimeter window film. AP is a supplier of LLumar window film and in 2014 was the brand’s National Dealer of the Year. It also reduces production time significantly with expedient printing on materials up to 3.5 inches thick. The product compliments the two HP L360 Latex printers the company is already utilizing.
