A judge has given XPEL until May 11 to respond to 3M’s complaint.

In a court document filed recently, attorneys from both parties requested a time extension for XPEL to respond to 3M’s complaint of paint protection film patent infringement. The date requested was today, April 27; however, on April 25, a judge gave the company even more time.

“This matter comes before the Court on the stipulation to extend time to respond to complaint filed by plaintiffs [3M] and defendant [XPEL],” the latest court document reads. “It is hereby ordered that the deadline for XPEL to respond to the complaint is extended to and including May 11, 2016.”

XPEL’s stock price is currently hovering around $1 per share, according to Google Finance, which is half of what it was worth prior to the lawsuit being filed.
