Absolute Perfection Awarded Multi-Million Dollar MTA Bus Contract

2016 was an exciting year for Sykesville, Md.-based Absolute Perfection (AP). The AP Applied Graphic’s division had the opportunity to sign a multi-million dollar Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Bus contract to wrap more than 200 buses, thanks to the division’s VP Chris Fong who led the bidding process. According to the company, this was the largest graphics film purchase in 3M’s purchase territory within the history of Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.

The company’s production team, led by Brandon Kemp, and its installers were able to complete the first 200 buses ahead of schedule. The project, which started in December, was completed on May 15, lending the team the opportunity to wrap an additional 189 buses. This brought the total number of buses the team wrapped to 389.

“Each bus required 21 panels for the full installation, so that forced us to keep a tight inventory of all pieces printed and delivered,” said Tim Cooke, COO of AP Media Group.

“The intricacies of specializing the installation is the exact heart of what inspires our team to work as hard as we do. From the management, down to the bare bones of the minute particulars from our installers, each individual on this team vibrantly sets forth to use their craft to positively influence the community around us,” said Clarke Lyons, strategic marketing coordinator. “In everything we do, we believe in always pursuing our craft with passion and never compromising our artistic integrity by delivering the highest quality products at the optimal level of service.

“The AP Media Group team is humbly grateful for this experience and has already grown tremendously as a company having had this involvement. We’re pleased to have had proud customers that have allowed us to expand our knowledge and skill set to the world. It’s been a privilege that we’ll carry with us as we continue to strive towards perfection in the future.”
