The Window Film Hall of Fame recognized Robert J. Connelly, the newly retired president and CEO of Madico Inc., as this year’s inductee. The award was given to him during the opening ceremony of the International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ (WFCT), which commenced this morning in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Connelly has served as president and CEO of the company since 1997. During his 20-year tenure, the company has been recognized by the Boston Globe as one of the “Top Places to Work,” in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Also under his guidance, the Massachusetts Chamber of Business and Industry also honored Madico with its Employer Choice Award in 2011. The company was also ranked in the top 16 manufacturers in the United States by Industry Week in 2011.

Connelly also serves as the president of the not-for-profit Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL), which is comprised of 260 companies in those industries. For the past eight years, he has directed technical programs, training program, and industry networking on behalf of manufacturing. He is currently attending the Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative subcommittees that work with AIM, and the Massachusetts government to promote manufacturing in the state.

“I’m just very overwhelmed and very humbled to have received this award,” said Connelly in accepting the award.

Connelly joins Ed Golda, president of Michigan Glass, Trent and Todd Courage of Ontario-based Courage Distributing and Bill Burke, industry veteran.
