How Some Companies Draw More Customers In

November 28th, 2018 by Emmariah Holcomb

As the holiday season is in full swing, it’s no surprise to see many customers eager to find deals on their favorite products – but what about including window film? A few companies brought the industry into the mix by taking advantage of the Black Friday and Small Business Saturday hype. Many offered, or are still offering unique promotions and discounts for products and services.

As far as tint is concerned we offered 15 percent off our ceramic line, prepay and book that day or on gift certificates,” Josh Poponick, Blackout Tinting owner, said.

But Poponick’s wasn’t the only business that jumped into offering savings and deals. Some businesses even extended discounts to the residential side of the industry in hopes of gauging more customer interest.

We do offer 15 percent off [of] residential installs above 100 sq. ft. and we also are offering $15.00 off of any 4 door car tinting service. On top of those offers, we’re also promoting our company’s gift certificates,” Mike Feldman, Advanced Film Solutions president, said.

But does business increase just based on giving a few options for your customers to save? Is this a trend that window film experts should take advantage of?
“[It’s] …hard to tell for 2018, but in previous years these deals did help us close more business since we typically bring it up if the sales call seems to be going nowhere fast. Once they hear about a 15 percent [off] deal they are usually more likely to go for it,” Feldman added.

On the other hand, not all companies decide to offer the limited discounts for a variety of reasons. A main reason could be that the company already has enough work orders on its plate to finish.

“AutoNuvo is not offering any holiday discounts [at this time]. We are in a very fortunate position to currently be fully booked for the next 3 months already,” Chris DiMinico, AutoNuvo president said.

The choice ultimately comes down to what you think is best for your company, either option could result in industry benefits.
