Three Things Our Industry Should Give Thanks For

As I write this post before Thanksgiving I thought I’d mention three things our industry should give thanks for. However, before I list those things, let me first thank all of you for taking the time to read my articles and send me so many encouraging words. So let’s dive into what we all have to be thankful for.

1. Our Industry Is Thriving – While the economy in general is doing well, the window film industry seems to be doing even better. While many industries are being massively disrupted by technology that eliminates jobs, our industry is, if anything, dealing with too much demand for services offered compared to qualified installers.
As our company works with businesses across the country, the #1 issue raised is keeping up with demand and the difficulty in finding qualified installers. This is a sign of a healthy industry with strong demand.

2. Technology Is Enhancing Industry, Not Disrupting It – While many industries are facing major disruption due to improvements in technology, the window film industry seems to only benefit from technological advancements. As advancements in things like cutting edge Low-E technology emerged, it’s only increased the potential for the window film market.
Likewise, continued advancements in automotive films and changes in automotive design have given people more reasons than just looks to install film on their vehicle. The new Tesla Model 3 is a great example. The larger glass roof on this and other vehicles caused many owners to consider window film application for heat and glare reduction. These jobs are typically being done with higher end window films and being purchased by owners that are not typical window tint buyers of the past.

3. Future Concerns Bode Well For Window Film – When you consider the top of mind concerns of people around the world, window film can play a role in the solution to several of them. Window films can be used to save energy in both commercial properties and homes. The need to decrease demand for energy is only going to become more important over the years. Also, unfortunately, the need for additional safety and security from acts of terrorism is increasing. Safety and security window films offer one of the most cost effective ways to address these concerns.
I hope you can agree that the future looks bright for our industry and we have a lot to be thankful for. This is a great industry and I hope that you have had a very prosperous 2018 thus far. I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.
