March 6th, 2019 by Emmariah Holcomb

The list of the 2019 most ethical companies, compiled by the Ethisphere Institute, named two companies from the window film industry. Both 3M and Eastman have been named for the sixth consecutive time.

The list highlights companies who consistently display high integrity in business conduct and ethical standards, according to the institute. The full list includes 128 companies representing 21 countries. Ethisphere evaluates companies in five categories: ethics and compliance program, culture of ethics, corporate citizenship and responsibility, governance, and leadership, innovation and reputation.

“At 3M, unwavering integrity is core to our values. We know that doing the right thing, everywhere, every day is key to having a sustainable global business. We honor the trust that is placed in us by our customers, employees, communities, and shareholders. This award is a collective effort by our 93,000 employees around the world,” said Veena Lakkundi, 3M vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer.

The company also stated its code of conduct is a part of 3M’s values and is an integral factor in its reputation.

“3M leaders create and promote a workplace environment where compliance and ethical business conduct are expected and encouraged through a strong tone at the top and leading by example,” according to the company.

Eastman states its current policies and initiatives allow its team members to support a culture of integrity and ethical standards. The company also has a required code of business conduct training for all of its employees.

“We see it as our purpose and responsibility at Eastman to enhance the quality of life in a material way through our innovative technologies, products and people. We can only be successful in fulfilling that purpose by building trust and confidence. This award is a testament to our team members and their commitment to operate and conduct business with the highest standards of ethics and integrity,” said Mark Costa, Eastman CEO and board chair.
