Tips to Prepare For National Window Film Day 2020

February 26th, 2020 by Emmariah Holcomb

The International Window Film Association (IWFA) recently held a webinar that gave attendees a step-by-step plan to prepare for National Window Film Day (NWFD) 2020. NWFD is scheduled for April 30, 2020.

“We’re here to help and support you even if it’s your first time supporting or celebrating NWFD,” said Steve Capoccia, president of IWFA’s public relations agency, Special Public Communications, who organized the webinar.

Although the industry-recognized day isn’t until April, the association found it would be more beneficial to start planning this month. According to Capoccia, the choice to begin in February centered on having additional time for window film businesses to promote the date. The association highlighted social media and offering discounts to customers on NWFD to draw positive attention to the day.

“Social media is a great way to promote NWFD, especially because everyone is so digital. This also gives you a chance to show off your shop and pride for the industry,” Capoccia said. “Since last year, we’ve seen companies post or give discounts to their customers to draw more attention to NWFD, it’s a tactic you could also use.”

Capoccia also noted the winter months typically are a slower time for industry businesses and highlighted the benefit of possibly adding a promotion now. In addition to offering a discount, shops could: host a Facebook contest, run an ad in your local newspaper or local media, record a short video that highlights window film, or make and publicize a donation, according to Capoccia.

No matter how you choose to recognize NWFD, the association thinks it’s a positive way to promote and unite the industry.

“It makes people smile when you say that [NWFD] because they think ‘what’s that?’ which gives you the opportunity to explain a little about the industry,” Capoccia said.
