Lisa Winckler Inducted Into the Window Film Hall of Fame

June 21st, 2021 by Editor

Lisa Winckler, who professes to love “geeking out on science,” and window film of course, was the latest honoree—and the first woman—inducted into the Window Film Hall of Fame. The award is sponsored by WINDOW FILM magazine.

Lisa Winckler is the first woman to be inducted into the Window Film Hall of Fame.

Winckler, an employee of Eastman Performance Films and its predecessors for over three decades, currently serves as director, Global Window Film Product Management – Performance Films. She was recognized by her peers, and was presented with the award during a special lunch in her honor at the 2021 International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ on June 7 in Orlando, sponsored by WINDOW FILM magazine.

Winckler, who loved science from a young age, graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of South Dakota. Most of her career was spent in Martinsville, Va., at Eastman’s manufacturing facilities.

Before the award presentation, a few of her peers lauded Winckler for the profound influence she has made on the window film industry serving as an innovator, advocate and mentor to others.

Her accomplishments include getting window film recognized by The Skin Cancer Foundation and earning window film its seal of recommendation for safe and effective sun protection. She is also lauded for her efforts to have window films included in National Fenestration Rating Council (NFCR) certifications, allowing window films to be considered by many utility rebate programs across the country. She is active on the NFRC board, and is the longest serving board member (over 25 years of service) of the International Window Film Association.

Erin Bernhardt, general manager, Eastman Performance Films, presented Winckler with the award.

“The impact she had on the whole industry has been phenomenal,” said Bernhardt. “She is an advocate, an inventor and entrepreneur, a mentor and a teacher and a friend to many of us.”

Winckler was surprised and humbled to be the latest inductee.

“I’m incredibly grateful for this and for the number of friends I have made throughout the world,” said Winckler. “I love the people involved in this industry … When you say go to the wall, they go to the wall.”

She ended her speech by sharing wise words from her mother who passed away a few days earlier: “Don’t be afraid.” Her long list of accomplishments proves she took that advice to heart.
