When it All Comes Together

By Tara Taffera

It’s great when an issue really jives— when one topic builds on another, and by the time you reach the end of the magazine, you have numerous, concrete valuable ideas to apply to your business. This January-February edition is one of those that came together that way.

If you finish reading this issue without at least considering adding residential films into your product mix, you may be making a mistake. Only you know the answer to that. All I ask is that you read the articles on the topic (on pages 6 and 8) and give it some serious consideration.

If you still aren’t convinced, you may want to consult an expert—so for that turn to the article on page 24 where WINDOW FILM assistant editor Emmariah Holcomb interviews Patric Fransko, president of Eye Magnet Management, a company that helps window film companies market their businesses. Because if you do decide to add residential films, or at least give it more of a concerted effort, Fransko’s tips on social media will be a huge help in that endeavor. And again, when making those investments into new markets, the industry’s suppliers, and others, can help.

Then there is the topic of decorative film–another area into which you may want to expand into, or perhaps market more. If that is the case, then check out the interesting projects sent in by our readers on page 22. In the Tint Tips article on page 12, Abby Crow, president of Source One Digital, and George Atkinson, vice president of marketing and sales, talk to Holcomb about what film companies need to watch out for when working on decorative projects.

When it comes to learning from others, the best place to do that is at the International Window Film Conference and Tint Off™. WINDOW FILM magazine just announced the dates—September 4-6 in Indianapolis. Look to pages 18 and 37 for more information and look for more regular updates on wfctevent.com.

I wish all of you a productive and successful 2019, and look forward to working with you.
