1. Tinter Produces Documentary

If you are a history buff, you may already know that the window film industry was founded on liquid glass tinting by the industry’s early pioneers. Eric Maldonado’s father J.O. was one of those folks, and when his father passed away in April, Maldonado started working on a documentary, “Flow-On” The History of Window Tinting. “It is a tribute to the early pioneers of the liquid glass tinting business,” says Maldonado.

2. FilmTack Exec Shares Details of the Asian Film Market

WINDOW FILM magazine’s Casey Flores traveled to Singapore recently and spoke with representatives of FilmTack, a window film distribution company headquartered there, which focuses on Southeast Asia. Flores spoke to KH Poon, manager, about many of the differences in the U.S. and Asian window film markets.

3 Companies Team Up to Provide Film Education

The importance and advantages of security film is evident, and Madico continues to take steps to educate its dealers, most recently through a training event held at its headquarters. The company held its SafetyShield Premier Partner Training in April, and Lerma Film Crew offered a training course on the proper installation of the SafetyShield system.

4 Reflective Tint Part of School Security Measures

As incidents of school violence continue to make headlines, officials in one Oklahoma school district have incorporated reflective window tinting as part of new security measures. Officials explain that the reflective film installations are rooted in a seemingly simple premise that’s only one part of layers of protective measures: A would-be shooter isn’t as likely to shoot at what he can’t see.

5. New Director of Sales and Marketing for Star Shield Solutions

Star Shield Solutions welcomed Liza Noland as its new director of sales and marketing –SE Division. Noland will be responsible for sales team leadership, the company’s internal marketing strategy, and the development of comprehensive marketing programs for the 3M PPF client base. Noland joins the SSS team from Ignite Brand Marketing, having also worked as vice president of sales and marketing, North America for SunTek Window Films.
