Six Reasons to Attend the International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ in 2021

Many window film and paint protection film companies tell us they are busier than ever, so what better time to take a break in January 2021 in sunny Florida and attend the International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ (WFCT) January 12-14 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The event was moved from September 2020 to January 2021 due to COVID-19.

“Many people are asking if there will be another event in September 2021,” said Tina Czar, director of events. “There will not. There will be one conference in 2021 and that is January 12-14. We are currently looking at locations and dates for 2022 as the next event after that.”

The Orange County Convention Center is a great venue for WFCT as it is of the nation’s largest venues to receive GBAC STAR™ accreditation on outbreak prevention, response and recovery. Recognized as the gold standard of safe venues, GBAC STAR provides third-party validation to ensure the implementation of rigorous protocols in response to bio-risk situations. In addition, the Convention Center has released its Recovery and Resiliency Guidelines, created to keep guests, employees and the community safe during trade shows, conventions and events.

Here are six reasons why you should make plans to attend …

1 Reduced registration fees.

Knowing the financial burdens some companies may be facing, show organizers have reduced registration fees for both competitors and attendees for 2021 from $425 to $185 for competitors (WINDOW FILM magazine subscriber discounted pricing) and from $69 to $25 for Trade Show Only (TSO) attendee registration (early bird discounted pricing). Go to wfctevent.com and click on attending or competing to secure your place.

Additionally, organizers are offering extended cancellation dates— up to December 15, 2020 should you need to alter your plans.

Many attendees are already signed up and are looking forward to the event, including Renee Hensel, who will be attending with her husband Paul, from ACE Window Tinters in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

“We have been attending this event for many years, and my husband Paul was a third place winner [in 2004 (the 3rd year of the competition)] and has competed in others,” she says. “I can honestly say that attending that very first WFCT gave us the educational edge when starting and continuing in our successful business. We usually attend with our staff and manufacturer  representatives, as we completely believe and pride ourselves and our business successes on continuing education. With all that is happening around us and how much the digital/social media arena is rapidly expanding, this year is not to be missed! I am very excited about the opportunities for myself and staff to learn so we can continue to serve our customers with the highest quality customer service … The Best Customer is an Educated Customer!”

2 The Competitions.

Window film tinters and paint protection film installers from around the world come together at WFCT to compete for the title of “World’s Best” in their respective divisions. Registration deadline for the Automotive Tint-Off™, the Architectural Tint-Off™ and the Paint Protection Film Competition is November 23, 2020. The first place winner in each category wins $10,000 (that’s an increase of $5,000 for the PPF competition).

Brian Felts from Solar Control Glass Tinting in Cumming, Ga., is competing once again in the Automotive Tint-Off and PPF Competition.

“I look forward to seeing all the vendors and all my previous competitors,” he says. “I look forward to seeing new techniques from all over the world, and of course competing for so many years I have made a lot of friends from all over, so I’m hoping to see them there as well.”

3 New Products from Sponsors.

Companies will be on hand from the industry’s suppliers to offer everything from window film, PPF, tools and more. See page 26 for a list of sponsors signed on thus far. For the most up-to-date list visit wfctevent.com.

4 Educational Sessions.

New in 2021 are specific tracks for decorative and paint protection. And there will still be plenty of sessions dedicated to window film, such as business tips, and nuts and bolts tactics to help your business. Learn from three full days of educational seminars and inspiring speakers.

Organizers are planning sessions which will include the following topics: how to prepare estimates; commercial sales strategies; manufacturer’s talk show live; how networking can help your business; going from one shop to two; entering the PPF market; adding ceramic coatings; town halls; how to sell decorative film; and more.

5 Hands-on Demonstrations.

There will be various demonstrations taking place out the event, and that includes show favorite Jeremiah Bienko who will be teaching three days of vinyl wrap classes on the show floor. “I will be wrapping a car for one lucky person in the area. Who will it be?” teases Bienko. He adds, “I know there are a ton of installers in Florida. You all should be there.”

6 Win Cash Prizes.

Event organizers will be giving away $500 every hour, in $250 increments, over the three days of the show, along with other giveaways.
