Film Industry Joins Forces to Support “Day in the Bay” FundraiserDecember 22nd, 2021 by Chris Collier
Window tinter Donnie Dixon was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. The CoolVu team organized a fundraiser named “Day in the Bay” to bring the community together and show its support for Dixon and his family.
The fundraiser was promoted before and during the 2021 International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ in Orlando, Fla. Tickets were sold for $20.00 each, or $50.00 for three entries, and the raffle was shared via email broadcast, trade publications and on social media, allowing anyone outside the trade to participate. All proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets will go directly to Dixon to assist with his medical expenses. WINDOW FILM magazine previously covered the community’s efforts to turn the tide in his favor.
The giveaway was for one seven-day vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii, including round-trip airfare for two, hotel accommodations and a Polynesian experience that includes a full-day tour of the north shore with activities and a rental car. A “Day in the Bay” with Tommy Silva and the crew of T&T Tinting Specialists was also included. The winner, Jesus “Jesse” Izabal, Face Window Tinting, Los Angeles, Calif., donated the Hawaii vacation package to Donnie Dixon and his wife.
“When I heard what Jesse and his wife decided to do, I was so amazed at Jesse’s generosity I decided to cover the expense of two vacations,” says CoolVu president Jeff Franson. “I want to make sure that both the Izabal’s and the Dixon’s have the opportunity to enjoy Hawaii. Thank you to everyone who participated in the fundraiser, with a special thank you to Tommy Silva, owner of T&T Tinting Specialists, for helping us coordinate the “Day in the Bay” experience.”
