3 Critical Marketing Components to Have in Place For 2022

As we come to the end of 2021, this has been an abnormal year to say the least. With many beginning to think about 2022, I wanted to share three critical marketing components to have in order as we head into the New Year.

2022 brings new marketing opportunities for your business.

A Properly Sorted and Optimized Website: Our company views a website as the hub of all other marketing activity. It is imperative that a company have a well-organized website with a logical user journey and plenty of ‘calls to action’ for the visitor. In addition, a website needs to be properly optimized and submitted to primary search engines to achieve good organic search positioning.

A Properly Set-Up and Optimized Google Business Profile: As mentioned in other articles, setting up and verifying your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is crucial. This listing is vital as you want to show up for local search engine results (map listings). Google has begun prioritizing the position of the map listings and your Business Profile is what drives the positioning here.

This is also the page where you should be accumulating Google Reviews. The number and quality of Google Reviews seem to impact organic search engine results and positioning on the “map pack,” so place a priority on collecting Google Reviews. Also, post content to this page on an ongoing basis (see the next point for more information).

Have at Least One Properly Set-Up and Maintained Social Media Channel: I recommend you do this with Facebook. Make sure that you have a good profile, cover photo and all of your information is filled out. Then, post on a regular basis to the page. Ask people to like and follow the page. That will help you to get some unpaid reach with the posts. You should post the content to your Facebook page and your Google Business Profile page. Post pictures of jobs you have done or relevant information about the products and services you offer … just post! It doesn’t have to be every day, but aim for several times per month at a minimum.

You may wonder why I specified Facebook. Simply put, I believe their ad platform offers the best return on investment. You can easily advertise to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger from one convenient Ads Manager from Facebook. There is no other ad platform that gives you that much versatility.
