Fransko’s journey included several months of chemotherapy.

The Holidays are packed with presents, and Window Film Pros founder Patric Fransko received a significant gift right before Christmas. Industry veteran Fransko defeated prostate cancer after a bout that began in early August. The victory comes 22 years after a successful battle with stage IIIB colon cancer.

“In a season where we often hear bells being rung, this was the sweetest sound I could hear,” Fransko shared on Facebook. “Thank God that today my [positron emission tomography] PET scan showed completely clear of cancer and I was given the all clear to stop my chemo treatment. This ringing the bell to signify the end of my chemo was one of the best Christmas gifts I could ever ask for. Thank you to everyone that has been praying for me these past months. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it.”

Fransko, who endured several months of chemotherapy, says he found light in darkness during his first cancer trial.

“When you go through something like that, it caused me to step back and say, ‘I may have five decades more. But I’m not guaranteed that,’” says Fransko, a newly-married 30-year-old at the time of his first diagnosis. “You start living your life more intentionally … There are times in my life that I classified my first bout with cancer as a blessing. My life over the last 22 years would have been different without that diagnosis. I feel like the last 22 years of my life have been more fulfilling and impactful.”
