Hyundai Motor Company Launches its Own Window Film

April 24th, 2024 by Casey Flores

Seoul, Korea-based Hyundai Motor Company (Hyundai) launched its own film line on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Hyundai Motor’s “Nano Cooling Film” being installed in Lahore, Pakistan.

In what the company calls “the world’s first application of nano cooling film,” it’s touted as a “revolutionary vehicle window tint that offers a significant improvement in interior cooling performance compared to conventional tint films”—quite the statement for a company that’s supplying window film for the first time.

A Hyundai release says it tested its film in Lahore, Pakistan, where temperatures can reach 120 degrees Fahrenheit and that it “effectively blocks external heat energy and emits internal radiant heat to the outside” and is “achieved through its unique composition of three layers that selectively block or emit specific wavelengths of solar heat.”

Hyundai says it plans to make applied materials technology such as window film as part of its future business ventures as the automotive space continues to get more competitive.

This is a developing story. WINDOW FILM magazine will provide updates as more information is made available.
