Window film industry legend Carole Lockwood has passed away.

Harry Rahman, head of architectural film at XPEL, shared the following reflections with Window Film magazine on her contributions to the industry and and legacy she left in this world:

Carole Lockwood, an amazing mother, friend, and mentor to the window film industry, passed away on April 8th. She served the window film industry for about 35 years and in the last 6 years took on a role to further the industry as well as the role of women in our industry.

She came on to help my company, Veloce in 2018, when I advised her to start using her brain, not her hands, to make money. She was getting a severe case of arthritis, and I convinced her to lay down the squeegee and come on board as a marketing and sales role. She became very involved on the social platforms helping any and everyone she could and did an amazing job. In 2021, when Veloce was acquired by XPEL, she became a member of the XPEL team and continued to have an amazing impact on her coworkers, customers, and the entire industry.

She was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer about a year ago and fought it hard without ever complaining about the pain. She would often share with me that God gave her cancer but brought her family even closer together and it was worth the pain. As a friend and a sister, Carole taught me kindness and giving without the thought of anything return. We will carry what she has taught us, and she will live on, while we live.

Window Film Pros founder Patric Fransko chimed in on Lockwood’s legacy.

“Carole was a terrific part of what makes this industry so great,” he says. “Praying for her family.”

Lockwood is survived by her sister Melissa and her three children Audra, Candice and Jeff.

  3. Carole was a bright presence and was almost always one of the first to like a post and engage with you both on social and in person. The industry lost a wonderful soul with the passing of Carole and my thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
