Appellate Court: Yelp’s “Manipulation of User Reviews Not Harmful” to Small Businesses

An appellate panel of judges in the Ninth Federal Circuit has agreed with a lower court’s decision to dismiss a complaint alleging that the online aggregator and review service Yelp had violated California’s Unfair Competition Law by giving review preference to advertisers on the Yelp site.
